United Airlines Attendants Seek Mediation

August 9, 2009 | Airline Industry, Airlines News

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO, representing flight attendants at United Airlines, said Friday it is filing a joint petition with the company to the National Mediation Board as the next step in securing a new contract.

The union contract requires this joint filing as part of an agreement to begin negotiations early and expedite the process for a new contract.

The agreement was part of negotiations in bankruptcy where flight attendants were required to take deep cuts to pay, benefits and work rules. United has operations in Elk Grove Township.
