International Airline Business Growth in July

Air Transport Association reported, the international airline business growth has strengthened, but growth of domestic flights declined in July. Airlines have benefited quite a lot of growth in international airline business.
For July, domestic yield rose 13.1% from a year ago to 14.95 cents. In June, domestic was 15.27 cents, up 17.7% from a year ago. Trans-Atlantic yield rose 27.5% in July to 13.97 cents. In June, Atlantic yield was 13.63 cents, up 27.4% from a year ago. Trans-Pacific yield rose 40.1% from a year ago to 13.42 cents, up from 12.97 cents in June, which was 35.1% above prior-year levels.

A travel industry resurgence may be under way in northeastern Oklahoma and throughout the country, officials say.
Whether encouraged by the rebound in the stock market, the abundance of vacation bargains or the arrival of warm weather, people appear primed for travel.
“We’re definitely on an uptick. Our booking agents are busy, busy, busy,” said Gary Spears, chief financial officer of Spears Travel/Travel Leaders’ offices in Tulsa and Bartlesville. “People are booking further out, upgrading rooms and planning bigger, longer, better trips.”
After the Wall Street collapse in the fall of 2008, the U.S. travel industry went into a slump reminiscent of its plunge following 9/11, industry executives said.

United States Airports See Fewer Travelers Taking Flights This Holiday Season

It now seems that air travel over the holiday season will fall by 2.5 percent when compared to last year. The Air Transport Association of America said that it expects 41 million passengers to fly on United States airlines over a 21 day period from December 17th to January 6th. The busiest travel days are expected to be Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday after Christmas on December 26th through the 28th.
