United Airlines Places Orders For 25 Airbus A350s And 25 Boeing 787s

United Airlines announced on Tuesday that it has ordered 25 Airbus A350XWB aircraft and 25 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and has future purchase rights for an additional 50 of both types of aircraft.
These orders follow a six-month request for proposal process, resulting in agreements with both Airbus and Boeing that allow United to meet its financial and operational objectives.

Air Travels- US Airways increases baggage fees after Delta, American

US Airways has just increased their baggage fees. There will now be a $5 additional charge on the first and second bags checked which raises the first bag fee from $15 to $20 and the second bag fee from $25 to $30. American and Delta airlines have recently upped their prices as well and US Airways claims it was necessary for them to do so in order to maintain company profits. Read more
‘Worst May Be Over’ For Airline Industry

Air passenger traffic fell 3.1 per cent in April, slowing from double-digit falls in the two preceding months, the airline industry association IATA says, noting the “worst may be over”.
