XL Airways Offers Cheap Flights to Round-trip to Paris, London
April 30, 2011 | Airlines News
There will be some cheap flights to Europe to be found this summer. They are not expected to be in abundance. Most of the travel agencies are quoting prices of $1,200 to $1,500 at a minimum. That is for a round-trip ticket to Paris or London.
There is a listed price of $747 round-trip on the XL Airways website. This is a new airline offering this low fare on some days. There is no English language website for ordering tickets from the United States to Paris, however.
Travelers will pay approximately $900 for an Iberia Airlines one-stop flight to Paris. This flight makes a stop in Madrid. Other airlines are selling round-trip tickets for a nonstop flight at $1,100 up to $1,500.
The relatively new Iceland Express books flights from New York to London, traveling via Reykjvik, Iceland. Last year round-trip fares were in the $400 to $500 range. The price of a few trans-Atlantic flights will be as low as $785. With all taxes and fees included, that price saves approximately $360. This is only an occasional ticket price. It is well worth waiting for since British Airways recently did a test booking at a cost per round trip ticket on Mondays in June. The flight went from New York to London and back for $1,146.
Smart shopping can result in a round-trip flight across the pond for less than $800. The traveler will have to be flexible about departure and return dates as they may be changed on the tickets with low price tags.
Delta Air Lines Adds Shuttle Service Daily Flights New York-Chicago

Delta Air Lines Inc., the world’s largest carrier, is adding shuttle service with 11 daily round-trip flights between New York’s LaGuardia and Chicago’s O’Hare airports to attract business customers.
The service to O’Hare, the world’s fourth-busiest airport, will begin June 10 and replace less-frequent flights to Chicago Midway, Delta Air Lines said today in a statement. The carrier also is adding flights from Los Angeles to four U.S. cities including Hartford, Connecticut.
The Chicago shuttle steps up competition with AMR Corp.’s American Airlines and UAL Corp.’s United Airlines for business travelers, who typically pay the highest fares. Those rivals both have hubs at O’Hare. The flights will use 76-seat Embraer 175 jets, and attendants will serve meals or bagels and complimentary wine and beer, as on other Delta Shuttle routes.
