Continental Airline New Flight Destination, Cleveland To Washington Dulles Internation Airport

Continental Airlines said Monday it will inaugurate service from Cleveland to Washington Dulles International Airport on Nov. 1.
The new flights are tied to Continental’s impending affiliation with United Airlines under the Star Alliance. United has an international hub at Dulles, and the added flights are aimed at overseas travelers flying out of Washington on United.
Continental will have two daily flights to Dulles from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, at 3:35 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., on 37-seat Bombardier Q200 aircraft operated by CommutAir. Return flights will depart Washington at 6:25 a.m. and 5:35 p.m.
Continental also is adding three flights to Dulles from its hub in Houston.
The Dulles flights will begin just days after Continental joins the Star airlines network. Continental is pulling out of the SkyTeam alliance, which Delta Air Lines has dominated since Delta merged with Northwest Airlines last October, creating the world’s largest airline.
Continental already flies to Washington, D.C., with six flights daily into Reagan National Airport and four daily into nearby Baltimore Washington International Airport.
